About Me:

I found my home.

I first moved to Juneau to attend the University of Alaska Southeast. After graduating, I found that nowhere else had quite the same caliber of friendly people, natural beauty, and thriving cultural community, and I decided this was home.

As a proud graduate of the UAS Mathematics program, I have the skills to make sure our city budget pencils out. I’ve prioritized a sustainable budget that ensures a stable future for our city’s finances while minimizing any loss of services. In my previous work for the State, I’ve learned just how vital those services are in ensuring happy and healthy outcomes for our citizens. Working at the Alaska Municipal League, I continue to have a front-row seat in learning what really goes into a thriving community.

The cost of living in Juneau is one of the highest in the state and that’s always on my mind with each decision we make. The past years’ inflation rates meant that while the city’s needs grew, so did its burden on the taxpayer. That’s why we cut property taxes this year, in an attempt to moderate the financial pinch we are all still feeling.

From waiting tables at the Sandpiper to slinging crab legs at Tracy’s Crab Shack, I’ve learned that our local economy runs on people power. It’s important to me that we continue to provide an environment where local businesses can succeed, creating jobs here in town and providing a diverse marketplace for Juneau’s residents and visitors.

As our summer weather continues to swing between extremes, I am reminded of the outsized impact that climate has on our coastal ecosystems. I support green and sustainable development to reduce and mitigate the impact of development on our lands and water. I support the 2018 Juneau Renewable Energy Strategy to promote energy independence in addition to the hydropower that our town relies on for clean and affordable energy.
